The AIOH is an inaugural member of the International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA).
We aim to protect the health of workers by preventing ill health in the workplace, by promoting the science and practice of occupational hygiene via:
Via campaigns and initiatives, AIOH collaborates with other stakeholders in the field of health and safety to highlight risks, and raise awareness of the causes of occupational diseases - and how workers should be protected. Through this, we can help influence national and international policy and practice.
We advance the profession by producing educational resources for members, connecting current and future industry leaders, and promoting the value of their practice to corporations and the general public.
We provide a collective voice for the profession by advocating on policy which improves legislation, regulation and standards.
We provide expertise and facilitate the sharing of knowledge through our programs, events and conferences, publications and guidance.
Developed by the AIOH Council, the Strategic Plan provides a clear vision and mission for the Institute, identifies key areas of focus in which work is conducted toward achieving the stated goals, and assists the AIOH Council to assess performance in relation to these goals. The five year plan is reviewed and refreshed by the Council annually.
The Council also approves an annual business plan which is aligned to the Strategic Plan and provides detail of the annual program of work toward strategic goals.
