Code of Ethics & Code of Conduct

Please read and acknowledge the conditions of your AIOH membership below.The AIOH is committed to promoting the professionalism of occupational hygiene, particularly concerning members behaving ethically and respectfully to fellow members, non-members, clients and AIOH staff. Consequently, as a demonstration of your awareness, you must acknowledge the following statements annually.As a member of AIOH, I am obliged and committed to:

1. Adhere to the AIOH Code of Ethics and the Code of Conduct. ;
2. Act with integrity and in a professional, respectful and responsible manner at all times;
3. Act impartially and objectively;
4. Act honestly; and in accordance with legal obligations;
5. Ensure work done under my direction is competently performed and reliably reported;
6. Take an objective position in the recognition, evaluation and control of environmental factors potentially adverse to health;
7. Accurately report results or outcomes of monitoring and observations and conclusions as far as feasible to represent factual and accurate conditions;
8. Protecting the confidentiality of health data and respecting the dignity and privacy of workers;
9. Conduct myself in a manner that will maintain, promote and improve the standing and reputation of the profession;
10. Ensure that I practise competently within the limits of my abilities and maintain my professional skills, competence and knowledge in the area(s) in which I work;
11. Treat my fellow members, non-members and AIOH staff with dignity and respect at all times;
12. On suspension or withdrawal of my certification, I will discontinue using any and all claims that contain a reference to AIOH or certification.
