About Us
Greatland is a leading new Australian Gold-Copper producer, having recently acquired the iconic Telfer mine and the world-class Havieron gold-copper project in the Paterson region in Western Australia. As we continue to grow our business and team, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Occupational Hygiene to join our team on a fulltime basis. About Telfer Operations
Telfer is a gold-copper mine located in the Paterson Province of the East Pilbara region of Western Australia. It includes both open-pit and underground mining operations, as well as the operation of Australia’s third-largest gold-copper processing facility. Since beginning gold production in 1975, Telfer has produced more than 15Moz of gold to date.
Our Telfer operations offer a fly-in fly-out work arrangement, providing our workforce with a healthy work-life balance. Onsite, we offer a broad range of recreational activities, including a recently refurbished gym, swimming pool, driving range, movie room, and both dry and wet mess facilities.
In addition to Telfer, Greatland owns 100% of the Havieron gold-copper, a world class development project with a multi-decade mine life, located 45km west of Telfer that will utilise the existing Telfer infrastructure to process Havieron ore, together with a significant exploration portfolio in the region surrounding Telfer.

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and resilient Occupational Hygiene Advisor to join our team at Telfer. In this role, you will work alongside the Senior Advisor – Occupational Hygiene  supporting a safe and healthy work environment. You will utilise your expertise towards the protection and promotion of workers’ health, protection of the environment and contribution to a safe and sustainable workforce

Please note: This is a permanent position. a 2:2 roster is preferred however we can accommodate a 8:6 roster if needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage health risks on-site per the Health and Hygiene Management plan.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Environmental Scientists, Ventilation Engineers, and Medical staff.
  • Implement and monitor the Respiratory Protection Plan, including respirator and hearing protection fit testing.
  • Assist in the review and implementation of Management Plans (e.g., Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, Potable Water).
  • Verify critical controls for major site hazards, including Silica, DPM, Noise, and Hazardous Substances.
  • Support potable water safety management and incident reporting follow-up.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety controls.
  • Conduct exposure assessments and interpret data to identify hazards and health risks.
  • Lead investigations into incidents exceeding Occupational Exposure Limits (OEL).
  • Communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.

About You
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in Occupational Hygiene principles, practice, and application, preferably within the mining or heavy industry. As a motivated self-starter, you will enjoy the autonomous nature of this role and will be encouraged to always learn and broaden your skillset.

We hope that you will also possess the following: 

  • Tertiary qualification in the discipline of Occupational Hygiene (or are working towards qualification)
  • Mining exposure highly regarded
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022
  • Eligible for Mine Air Quality Officer appointment
  • DMIRS-approved Noise Officer Course
  • Proven experience implementing, executing, and supporting site hygiene programs
  • Understanding/exposure to Occupational Hygiene practices, processes, and disciplines over a range of health risks.
  • Experience and competency in Respirator Fit Testing (AIOH RespFit or equivalent)
  • Provisional membership of AIOH desirable. Full membership will be highly regarded.
  • C class manual license (Required)
  • Full Australian working rights required
