As the year draws to a close, it provides us with a moment to reflect on what has been a busy and productive period for our Institute. Working together, our members, Council, and staff have achieved considerable progress in many areas of our work over the last twelve months. The achievements are a demonstration of the commitment and collaboration that define our AIOH.

The year ahead, filled with potential, presents exciting opportunities for growth and impact. The Council remains deeply committed to meeting the expectations of our members while continuing to advance the goals outlined in our strategic plan. At the heart of our mission is the promotion and protection of worker health and well-being, an ambition that will continue to guide our initiatives and priorities throughout the coming year.

As we move forward, we recognise the importance of embracing change and modernisation. Our focus will centre on delivering tangible outcomes that support our members and strengthen our work’s impact and influence in the broader community. These include:

  • Enhancing Member Value: We will prioritise initiatives that directly benefit our members, such as expanding professional development opportunities, providing greater access to research and resources, and fostering stronger networking connections.
  • Strengthening Advocacy and Influence: We will continue to advocate for policies and practices that promote worker health and well-being, working collaboratively with government, industry, and other stakeholders to achieve meaningful change.
  • Embracing Innovation and Technology: We will explore and adopt modern technologies and approaches to enhance our operations, improve communication, and deliver more effective programs and services.

Through ongoing engagement, collaboration, and innovation, we will ensure that the Institute remains well-positioned to address emerging challenges and opportunities.

Those who know me well, or have heard me deliver a speech, understand that I appreciate a good quote – I feel that Abraham Lincoln’s “the best way to predict the future is to create it” sums up our collective approach perfectly.

On behalf of the 2025 Council, I extend my gratitude for your contributions, dedication, and trust in our shared mission. Together, we will build on the successes of this year and continue striving toward a healthier and more sustainable future for all workers.

Wishing you and your families a Merry Christmas, a restful and fulfilling holiday season, and a successful year ahead.

Sincerely,

Aleks Todorovic
President 2025
